Middlesbrough Football Club, also known as "The Boro" or "Smoggies" is a professional association football club based in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, England. Steve Gibson is both owner and chairman of the club with Aitor Karanka as head coach. The club was founded 140 years ago and was the first football club in the world to launch its own TV channel. Middlesbrough won the League Cup in 2004, the club’s first and only major trophy. The club’s traditional outfit is red with white details. The club’s crest features a red lion since 2007.
