The club's home stadium is the Vicente Calderon Stadium located in Madrid, Spain, which has around 54,960 seats. After the 2016/17 season, the stadium will be demolished, and the team will start playing at the Estadio La Peineta, also known as the Estadio Olimipico de Madrid, which has a capacity of 20,000 and will be able to host 73,729 in the near future. During the club's history it has received many nicknames such as Los Colchoneros (The mattress makers) after the team's uniform who's made of old mattresses. During the 70's the team has also received the nickname Los Indios (The Indians) due to the fact that the team signed many South American players after the limitation concerning foreign players were lifted. Some suggest a different explanation for the nickname and claim it is a natural contradiction to their opponent team "The Whites" since Native Americans were at war with the white population occupying South America.
