The European basketball league, Euroleague, has finished its last season (2016/2017) in Istanbul, the capital of Turkey, with a crushing and historic victory for the host country: 64:80 against the Greeks: Olympiakos. This is the first time that Turkey's national basketball team, Fenerbahçe, has picked up the Euroleague title, under the leadership of Zeljko Obradovic, for whom it was the ninth trophy as coach. Euroleague tournament was founded in 2000, and at first its aim was to fight the European Champions League tournament. After only one year, the two companies were united and the name "Euroleague" became the name given to the most important tournament in the European basketball world. The Euroleague tournament includes the 16 best basketball teams in Europe, 11 of which have license A, that allows immediate and unlimited qualifying, four of them have a B license, allowing immediate qualifying for one year, only for teams that excelled in their leagues, and one C license given to the Eurocup champion.
